I thought I would be cute, and try to draw Printemps, using straight lines. They turned out looking like a six-sided Emingle instead. Thus, everyone gets to choose their preference for what to call them.
The other patterns I used are: Hollibaugh, Ing, Paradox, Meer, Cubine, Stripes, my pattern Putki, and Arukas,

I like this one. There is a lot going on, but it doesn't get busy. You did some really nice weighting of some of your lines too, which really helps add dimension. Great job!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful, i like the contrast between the bold black the shadows and the other lines.
ReplyDeleteLovely work!
ReplyDeleteThis works. I like the spiky parts and the way you made curves out of straight lines. Some clever thinking here.
ReplyDeleteNice work. I like the flow of this tile. Like the subtle use of bold lines (does that qualify as an oxymoron?). The shading really creates some nice depth.
ReplyDeleteIs Putki the one that looks like a zipped zipper? Fun tile. It almost looks like a map to a fantasmical theme park!
ReplyDeleteYou came up with a really nice tile using all straight line tangles. You managed to attain lots of movement and depth. I think it's interesting how you "straightified" some usually not straight line tangles. I'm seeing zippers too. Fun piece.
ReplyDeleteI really like the squared off Printemps....I may have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI had to look up Putki ... wasn't familiar with this zipper-looking pattern. I love how using it with the angular printemps integrates the entire tile. This is a great tile.
ReplyDeleteGreat tile, David. There's so much movement in it!
ReplyDeleteOMG- what amazing motion! I can't stop looking at it! It is like an amusement park of motion! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery creative - a lovely composition and great choice of tangles. I love your printemps in the square!
ReplyDeleteI really like your tile. What a funny idea to tangle Printemps with straight lines! They look strange but pretty :-)
ReplyDeleteAt first your tile doesn't look as only straight lines and that was the fascination of this challenge, wasn't it!? Great work :-)
I do like the movement too! Lots of hidden gems lurking in this piece!
ReplyDeleteI love your combination of tangles. It has a sort of Rube Goldberg meets Steampunk feel - I keep waiting for something to come down that zipper-like conveyor belt to further amaze and delight. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition, David. I love that you straightened out Printemps. Polyprintemps would work LOL!
ReplyDeleteVery eye catching design! Great work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile David!

ReplyDeletethis reminds me of a roller coaster. It is so active and energetic! love it
ReplyDeleteThis is tremendous! Every portion of this is in motion...almost looks like a machine of some sort. Cool beans (no those are curved)!
ReplyDeleteWonderful mix of shapes in this David, and so much movement! I love the way that Putki fits in there too. I have tried it and absolutely love that tangle! There is so much here to find that the more I look at it, the more I find. Wonderful piece!
ReplyDeletevery beautyfull
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design, David! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI like it! I'm gonna have to try Putki! It caught my eye right away...it and those Mingling Temps!
