This was a fun challenge. We could use any patterns we wished. Here are Mine:
1-Fracas-Zentangle
2-Fescu-Zentangle
3-Fohbraid-Sandra Strait
4-Star Map-Suzanne McNeil
5-Flux-Zentangle
Tile Size: 3.5 x 3.5 inches.
This is the first time I have used patterns numbered 1,3, and 4. They are great patterns. Star Map is a wonderful background fill. It doesn't clutter up the Tile, yet it is a very interesting pattern. I'll be working with these in the future.
This is my Blind String with which to base my challenge Tile.
This is my finished Tile.
A special thanks to everyone leaving Comments on my Leaf String challenge, last week. I very much appreciate the helpful input.

that is a gorgeous tile. you are right, that tangle on the background really keeps it open and airy., and I love the braid and how you colored it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Airy, free and elegant. I love it :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love that string of red in the fohbraid and how it runs thru your tile, David! Very nice, and the contrast in the base of your "bouquet" (is that fracas?) with the black and white stripes...the tile reminds me of a renaissance faire.
ReplyDeleteand thanks for the reminder about star map...I haven't used it, but it really is a great background, with the white space. I'll be using it myself.
I love the pop of colour in your tile, and the airy-ness (is there such a word?) of the entire piece :) I also like how it kinda looks like everything was casually tossed together to create a unique piece of art :)
ReplyDeleteYou always manage to come up with something unexpected and witty and I look forward each week to seeing what you've come up with. This resembles a torch and, at the risk of stretching a simile too far, it really lights up the page.
ReplyDeleteGreat tile! It's really imaginative and I like the easy flow in it.It feels festive and happy somehow. Very neatly done.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes - love the shine, depth and clarity of this tile, David. It is very eye-catching and resonates for me as my son has just won an archery competition! Axxx
ReplyDeleteI really love this! That snap of red makes it ZING!!
ReplyDeleteWow, David, this tile is quite special. I love the red in it and the way it's shining.
ReplyDeleteDavid, as usual this is brilliant. I like the sense of direction and that touch of red on the ribbon-like tangle is great. well done.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous tile! Very elegant with wonderful movement! I like the touch of the red colour, too!
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the space you were offered by your string. Great choice of tangles, and yes, Flux is an official Zentangle tangle. Good choice with the splash of red too!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! And I really love how you did fohbraid!
ReplyDeleteI just love what you did with this one. Nice string and great interpretation of it.
ReplyDeleteVery nice - kind of get a "gambler" feel out of this - red, white & black! Dots look like dice.
ReplyDeleteLove your tile and as always crazy about the hint of red used. You did an excellent job with tiles you had not used before.
ReplyDeleteWunderschön, wie immer, das Rot macht für mich den besonderen Reiz aus!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous tile, full of life!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing. I love the snake and I love the main object. The black aura creates a most unique "fire" feeling.
