Diva Challenge #202-Duo Tangle-Chebucto and Copada

This weeks Diva Challenge is to create a Tile using only two patterns. This is a Duo-Tangle Challenge. The two patterns are Chebucto and Copada. Both of these patterns are designed by Margaret Bremner, CZT.  The Chebucto pattern has the red sections in my Tile. The Copada pattern has the wishbone stucture.

Both of these patterns are brand new to me. The Copada pattern was a breeze to learn. It just flows. The Chebucto was more difficult for me. I found that I needed to create a new step-out that I could use. Once I got my ducks in a row, it was Tile Time. I really got into the Zen mode this week. Once this tile was started, there was no stopping. I could not believe that three hours had passed. It doesn't look like it should take that long. This was a great Challenge. Thanks, Diva Laura, and Margaret Bremner.

Patterns:
1- Chebucto-Margaret Bremner
2-Copada-Margaret Bremner

Pens: Sigura Pigma Micron, .01: black, red. Shading: Graphite pencil, 2B.
          Blick Studio Colored Pencils
Tile: 3.5 x 3.5 inches, Fabriano Tiepolo stock.

Thanks to everyone who commented on last weeks Challenge. It is wonderful to hear from you.

  3. It's fun getting lost in a tile, isn't it?! I really like the stipple and shading between your "rays".

  4. This composition pulls the viewer in even though it is radiating out which produces a very interesting effect that had me mesmerized for a bit. Good job and a very successful approach to this week's challenge.

  6. Well, David, not only have you created a brilliant tile, with movement and depth, not to mention seeing both patterns in a new way but also, you have solved my problem with Copada too! Bet you didn't realise you were THAT good, did you? Ican see now that I'm trying to keep it too regimented. Back to the drawing board with a freer hand and a lighter heart. Thank you, for a lovely piece of work and a bit of inspiration.

  11. Again you did it , real art this tile. Inventive done to make a shining briljant sun with the borderpatterns. I love your work.

  12. What a creative solution. A Chebucto Sun. I love how you doubled the pattern around the sun, and made the sunbeams with chebucto and copada. The use of color is just enough to make the tile very interesting without looking to busy. Well done David. More and more I become a fan of your work, it is just great and very creative.

  24. Like a lot about this tile. I like the perspective and also impressed with your being able to do Chebucto in a circle. I tried and few times in my journal and just could not get it. Like your use of color as well. Have been doing things for Square One and sometimes forget about using it, although I do not use it a lot anyway.
