The contrast between the floral and the abstract sections, emphasised by the different colours makes this a really interesting piece. I also like the way it gets simpler and emptier from top left to bottom right. Like.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I like the fringey things.
ReplyDeleteI like how the hitched looks three dimensional. Your use of organic with more mechanical/linear looking patterns is very interesting to look at. As always, you have created a tile that is delightful!
ReplyDeleteThis is really an interesting composition, David. There are so many interesting little pieces that you put together to make something quite beautiful. For example, how you only colored in three of the four diamonds in red. And, those flowers are just so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteAgain stunning. Beautiful done and I love your colors!
ReplyDeleteDavid, we had some of the same ideas----I promise I didn't look at yours first----but they look quite different. As I'm sitting here looking out at the snow that was supposed to end at noon still coming down at 2:20 PM, I really enjoyed your floral tangles. They remind me that "This too shall pass". Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful. Love it. Looks like robot chickens. :-)
ReplyDeleteSteampunk meets the Garden Club. What a great concept - and it works so nicely!
ReplyDeleteYour "KISS" was so incredibly awesome, I couldn't wait to see this weeks and you certainly don't disappoint. Lovely work David!
Oh, little Steampunk vibe here! As usual, your use of color is just enough. Love how you gave the hitched sections a solid 3D look, and all the little rivets are subtle, but add some fun. I love this!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers and the colours really took my eyes off everything else for the first 20 seconds.. Everything is so beautifully contrasting, there is so much going on in your tile, I keep scrolling back up to look at it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Debbie (from hesedetang.wordpress.com) (Not sure why it keeps trying to post my comment as 'Anonymous'.. even though I picked 'Wordpress' ID as usual :P Oh well.)
Ah it shows up properly now. Haha.. better late than never! Thanks!
DeleteI love the way you coloured this one. It's a beautiful, well-balanced tile!
ReplyDeleteI like your tile - a wonderful combination of the Hitched pattern with the flowers and the other patterns you used.
ReplyDeleteAnd though I am not a big fan of colour I really like how you used colour here - wonderful :-)
Beautiful! Hitched is so bold and the flowers balance it wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteIt's very original. i like it.
ReplyDeleteI love this composition and the coloring!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and original tile! Wonderful colouring, too!
ReplyDeleteOh stunning! Love the combination of a sort of steampunk with the flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the New years hello!! I hope your holidays were joyous, and may your new year be filled with more inspiring work! I just love this piece! Your shading is the tops!! Let's toast to another year of Zentangle friendships and creativity that has no end!!! Blessings!! ;0) Annette
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love this! Very nice work!
ReplyDeleteNice color! The white triangle in each diamond sparkles.
ReplyDeleteGreat colours, it all makes a super tile.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how to put into words my reaction to this tile. It is so unique. It is great. The upper portion reminds me antique fabric. Love the transition from the floral to the more abstract. Stunning work.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Hitched has a very "steampunk" kind of look which marries well with the very delicate floral above it.
