The design for this weeks challenge seemed like a good idea at the time it was started, but it ended up kind of cluttered. In an attempt to make it a bit more coherent, I attempted to color it. Now there is more color that I normally like to use.
Thanks for your Comments on last weeks Challenge. They are very much appreciated.

I do like how your stripes go over and under each other. I see what you mean though about "cluttered", and your idea of using cooler certainly helped define the sections. Sometimes it's good to stretch our comfort zone :)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Nice use of color, too.

I like the weaving, and really the colors are so nice. It's pretty complex...must have taken some thinking to get them right.
ReplyDeleteThe weaving is so intricate and interesting. I think the colour makes it easier to follow the individual patterns, and thus, perhaps less "cluttered". Very nice art, as usual David
ReplyDeleteI dig the curvy line in shattuck, that really makes it look different.
ReplyDeleteI like this tile of yours and I think the coloring was a right decision. We sort of had the same idea with weaving :-)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and creative way of working with stripes. I love the composition and colors. And it inspires me too.
ReplyDeleteThe weaving is so beautiful, and the tangles go perfect together.
ReplyDeleteThe coloring is in perfect balance with the black and white.
So nice to see you used "spaanders" ....I never seen it used before.
What a lovely tile, specialy how you weave the patterns an colored it. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I like the weaving effect :)
ReplyDeleteLook, David, it isn't cluttered, it's complex. It isn't too much colour, it's subtly varied.
ReplyDeleteThe weave of stripes and patterns requires so much skill - I am really impressed. (And a tad envious, but I may forgive you in time for being so talented.)
Nicely done! The colour is a good touch as it helps the eye travel along each stripe. Love the weave!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I looked at your tile I discovered something new. I love the complexity of it and the color just adds that little extra. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the complexity, too! So many details! Great choice of tangles and fine accents of the colours!
ReplyDeleteSoooooo many stripes, I spent an enjoyable few minutes working my way along each stripe, the colour works very well. Linda x

ReplyDeleteDavid I think this is amazing!!! It might be busy for your taste, but that is what is so neat about these challenges. Sometimes we go places we wouldn't normally go to. It reminded me of an artistic view of our freeways her in So Ca. But beautiful!!!!Thank you for your ever so uplifting comment on my blog! Hope you a a FAB day!!! :0) Share Humanity
ReplyDeleteCan see where you would think it is cluttered, but I agree that it is complex. I think since your color is softer, it adds a lot to the piece.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your collection of all the different tangles and the way you have braided them together. And, thanks a lot for your inspirational comment on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteAnother multi-layered wonder - fab!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stripes. I love the minimalistic use of color that adds so much expression to the visual
